Thirty years ago, it was my passion for playing and teaching the game that led me to become a PGA Member. That same passion lives within each of us. While life and opportunity take our Members down many different career paths, we must never lose sight of why the PGA of America exists.
Our Association is at a point of inflection. We must ask a fundamental question: Are we truly prioritizing the PGA Member above all else?
Every opportunity we face should begin with one question: Does this benefit our Members? If the answer is yes, we move forward. If the answer is no, we move on. It’s time for our member-based Association to be fully member-centric in all that we do.
If entrusted with the responsibility to serve as your Officer, I will place the PGA Member at the center of every decision. Because our Association was founded for one purpose—to serve the PGA Member—and that purpose must guide our future.
Together, we will elevate our Members and shape a stronger future for our Association.
A Message From Steve
Let’s Do This Together

My Core Motivation
What drives me is simple—it’s the people and the game that has given me so much. The PGA of America changed my life, and I feel a deep responsibility to give back to the Members and Associates who make our Association what it is. I’m driven by a passion to serve, to ensure we never lose sight of the PGA Member, and to help create opportunities for the next generation to experience the same pride, purpose, and relationships that this profession has given me.
Danielle Monas (Nicholson) was eight years old when I handed her a medal at a Northern Ohio PGA Futures Tour event. Years later, she became a PGA WORKS Fellow, and eventually a colleague.
“Steve Parker’s impact on my life has come full circle. I first met him when I was 8 years old, when he was with The First Tee of Akron and he handed me a medal at a Northern Ohio PGA Futures Tour event. Years later, our paths crossed again when I played at the University of Akron and he was the Director of Golf at Portage Country Club, allowing our team to practice there.
After college, Steve’s leadership and advocacy for the PGA WORKS Fellowship opened the door for a career in the golf industry that I love—as well as several other fellows that have followed me. Only after working at the section did I realize that it was Steve in the photo when I was eight.
I’m proud to call Mr. Parker a mentor—a dependable leader and a champion for creating opportunities for others and growing the game of golf.”
That’s what this game can do for a life. Moments like that are exactly why I’m asking for your support.
