My passion for the game of golf and the values it represents are matched by my commitment to teaching and coaching. Passion is widely recognized as a driving force behind success—it fuels my motivation and sustains long-term effort. While skills and knowledge are essential, passion supplies the “why” that inspires my dedication and continuous improvement. It’s why I’ve remained committed to life-long learning and growth as an instructor, ensuring I can better serve those I teach and positively impact their experience in the game.  This same passion can be seen in my service to keep the PGA strategically relevant and focused on the PGA Member and the game as the next Secretary of the PGA.

  • Steve Parker’s impact on my life has come full circle. I first met him when I was 8 years old, when he was with The First Tee of Akron and he handed me a medal at a Northern Ohio PGA Futures Tour event. Years later, our paths crossed again when I played at the University of Akron and he was the Director of Golf at Portage Country Club, allowing our team to practice there. 

    After college, Steve’s leadership and advocacy for the PGA WORKS Fellowship opened the door for a career in the golf industry that I love—as well as several other fellows that have followed me. Only after working at the section did I realize that it was Steve in the photo when I was eight. 

    I’m proud to call Mr. Parker a mentor—a dependable leader and a champion for creating opportunities for others and growing the game of golf.
